Fake Imposters Fake Imposters

Fake Imposters features a rotating roster of students who belong to Carman Collegiate's rock band program. They perform a mixture of classic and alternative rock. Members include: Angus May, Colin Hay, Evan Dracass, Jeremy Stevenson, Braden Kauenhofen, Cyrus Walker, Michael Johnston, and Tayler Morgan. Samantha Dracass works on the group's publicity and students Monique Payette, Jessica Rutter and Ryan Coss help out behind the scenes. These students will also be helping to facilitate Band Aid this year.

Blackout Blackout

Blackout consists of Tayler Morgan on guitar and vocals, Michael Johnson on bass and vocals and Cyrus Walker on drums. The band plays a mix of classic rock and alternatives as well as some original songs. The Carman Collegiate students perform at school assemblies and were one of the bands featured at this year's Rock for Jolene concert. This will be the band's first Band Aid performance.

Talent Whack Talent Whack

Talent Whack is: Andrew Murray on lead guitar and vocals, Jake Armstrong on drums and vocals, Luke Anseeuw on bass and vocals, and Troy Anseeuw on keyboard and vocals. They are "the awesome". Specifically they are a cover band from Sanford, Manitoba, Canada, North America, Earth, Sol System, Milky Way Galaxy. Talent Whack is beginning to write their own music, which along with the cover tunes they play represents the epic genre of Post-Indiepop Nerdcore Emobilly Electridisco Industrial RadBlazer Punk Rock Rap Metal of Progressive Death.

Mind Over Matter Mind Over Matter

Mind Over Matter formed about three years ago. Based out of Carman, Manitoba the band features rhythm guitarist Angus May, lead guitarist Evan Dracass, bassist Colin Hay, and drummer Jeremy Stevenson. Vocals are shared between Colin, Angus, and for this year's Band Aid performance, Joel VanKoughnet. Mind Over Matter plays hard and alternative rock including covers of such bands as Metallica, The Ramones, White Stripes and My Chemical Romance. The band also has some original songs in the works which you may just hear at this year's performance. The high school students perform regularly at Carman Collegiate entertainment assemblies and were featured at his year's Rock for Jolene performance. This will be the band's third appearance at Band Aid.

Ceone Dyck Ceone Dyck

Ceone is a Grade 11 student at Carman Collegiate who enjoys singing and playing guitar. She performed at Blizzard Fest 2011 and was most recently seen on stage in her role in Hillbilly Hankerin'. At Band Aid she will be accompanied on guitar by Mr. Byrka.

Rachel Byrka Rachel Byrka

Rachel Byrka is a Grade 10 student at Carman Collegiate. She is a singer/songwriter and guitar player. Her last performance was at Timbers in Morden. At Band Aid she will perform two songs accompanied by her dad Ken Byrka. A Carman Collegiate teacher, Ken Byrka is the lead singer and bassist for Canadian rock band Sleddogs. Sleddogs will be performing in Carman on Saturday June 4 along with Rachel and featuring comedy from Randy and Mr. Lahey of the hit showcase series Trailer Park Boys. The social is a fundraiser to support Celebration of Life. Rachel will also be performing at the Back 40 Music Festival in Morden on June 5th and the Winnipeg Folk Fest in July.
